The Anacapa Dental Art Institute was established by Dr. Saj Jivraj in 1996 to provide the highest quality in esthetic and restorative dental care. Dr. Jivraj is proficient, gentle and caring and will provide quality work while making you comfortable and at ease.
Dr. Jivraj is a dentist specializing in prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry dedicated to the highest care in the restoration and replacement of teeth.
A survey of our patients gave us a 100% satisfaction rating and that is the standard we always aim for.

Meet Dr. Saj Jivraj
British Native Dr. Saj Jivraj is an award-winning specialist in Prosthodontics. He was voted "Best of USA" by his peers in 2007, and has authored over two dozen articles on implant dentistry and restorative dentistry for the British Dental Association.
Dr. Jivraj completed his dental degree at the University of Manchester in England in 1993 and his Advanced Prosthodontic training at the University of Southern California.
He also completed a Masters in Science Education with a specialty in Medical Education at the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California.
He is a former Chairman of Fixed Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. His responsibilities included training tomorrow’s dentists in esthetic and reconstructive procedures. Dr. Jivraj is also the co-author of the book “Treatment Planning in Implant Dentistry”, which is a text used worldwide by dental students, dentists and specialists alike.
Dr. Jivraj is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry.
As an internationally-renowned expert on implant dentistry, Dr. Jivraj regularly teaches classes in implant dentistry in the United States and abroad.
Dr. Jivraj lives near Oxnard with his wife and two children.

Laura Morehead
Laura attended a dental assisting course through the regional occupational program where she graduated with her X-ray License in 1988. She interned in an oral surgery office which turned into a full time position. In 1989 Laura received her Oral Surgery Certificate. Laura was on staff at St Johns Hospital where she accompanied the doctors and assisted them with extensive surgery cases.
In 1990 Laura moved to work in an Orthodontic office where she received her Registered Dental Assistants License. Laura was Senior Assistant for 9 of the 12 years in orthodontics. Her responsibilities included co-ordinating treatment for patients as well as fabricating orthodontic appliances.
After leaving orthodontics Laura assisted in a general dental office until 2004 after which she took a couple of years off to spend quality time with her three daughters.
Laura has been at Anacapa Dental Art Institute since 2006 where she is our Office Manageress.
Heather Poune, RDH
Heather comes to the office with many years of experience. She is well-credentialed and has been in dentistry for over 10 years. She completed a dental assisting course at the Simi Valley Adult school and received her X-ray and Coronal Polishing license in 2000. She then interned and worked in a general dental office as an assistant while she attended the dental hygiene program at Oxnard College. After graduating dental hygiene with honors and while awaiting her license to practice, she enjoyed working briefly as an Oral Surgery assistant.
Heather was part of a spectacular hygiene class which ranked second in the nation with regards to national board scores and she has also been recognized by the California Dental Hygienists Association for excellent Clinical skills.
Heather is a caring and compassionate person who strives for excellence with her patients and performs her duties in an extremely gentle manner.
Amber Figueroa
Amber attended a dental assisting course through the regional occupational program where she graduated with her x-ray license in June of 2007. She interned At Anacapa Dental Art Institute and is now serving in the capacity clinical coordinator.
Amber is currently attending Oxnard City College, and is planning to complete a program in Dental Hygiene.
Amber enjoys going to the beach, listening to music, cooking, playing softball and spending her spare time with her three brothers.
Allan Gregorian
Allen attended dental lab school for two years in Pasadena to become a fully certified dental technician. This was one of the only programs at the time accredited by the California Dental Association.
After graduating in 1998, Allen spent seven years at UCLA school of Dentistry working with world class faculty where he was able to further his education in Removable Denture Prosthetics, and stay up to date with the latest advancement in techniques and materials.
In 2007 Allen came to Anacapa Dental Art Institute and started working with Dr. Jivraj, He quickly realized that both he and Dr Jivraj were committed to excellence in denture prosthetics.
The team approach allows them to offer the best to the patient. Patients come from around the US to have treatment completed by this team. Allen also lectures in many of Dr. Jivraj’s courses for dentists throughout the US.
Elizabeth Heredia
Elizabeth is the Scheduling Secretary for the office. She oversees the administrative aspects of the practice including scheduling appointments and filing insurances. She is likely the first person you will meet either on the phone or at the front desk. You will like her gentle and caring manner.
Elizabeth has been in the dental field for three years, and specializes in our insurance billing for our office.
During her spare time, Elizabeth likes to shop and spend quality time with her family.
